HEAT Loan forms and lender documents prepared with you.

  • Numbers on paper

What you pay, what comes back and what you can finance, laid out together.

  • Old boiler handled

Removed, disconnected or kept for deep cold. Your call, done right.

Five Ways We Get You Off Gas and Onto a Heat Pump

Some homes need the whole package. Others just need a mini-split in the attic and help with the rebate. Pick what fits. Most jobs mix a couple.

How the Switch Works, in Five Steps

  1. You call, we ask questions

What heats the house now? How old is it? Which rooms run cold? Who are your gas and electric companies? A short call tells us a lot.

  2. We check the programs

We run your house against the Mass Save rebate requirements and the HEAT Loan checklist. Still need the no-cost Home Energy Assessment? We help get it booked.

  3. We come out and measure

On site we size each room, check the insulation and the gas boiler or furnace, and pick spots for the outdoor unit and the line sets.

  4. You get it in writing

One proposal shows the gear, the cost, the expected rebate and what you would borrow. Want the HEAT Loan? You apply with a participating lender. Nothing starts until you say go.

  5. We install, test and file

Units go in, the old system is handled as planned, everything gets tested. We show you every setting, then close out the rebate and loan forms.

What Makes a Gas-to-Heat-Pump Switch Go Right

Most bad heat pump stories come down to three things. Vague promises. A backup boiler wired wrong. Equipment that quits when it gets truly cold. Here is how we handle each one.

  • It is all in writing

Before anything gets ordered, you get the whole job on paper: what is going in, what it costs and what happens to the boiler. You know what you are getting. So do we.

  • Backup heat set up properly

Keeping the gas boiler? It gets integrated controls. Day to day the heat pump runs alone; the boiler only wakes up when it gets bitter out. Removing it? Out it goes, or it gets disconnected, the way the rebate requires.

  • Built for real winters

Our heat pumps are cold-climate models, built to keep putting out heat during the worst week of February. No crossing your fingers.

Working in Beverly and the Towns Next Door

Beverly has a bit of everything. Victorians and colonials off Cabot Street. Capes and ranches in North Beverly and Centerville. Older shingle homes out toward Beverly Farms. Two-families near Rantoul Street. Plenty of them still burn gas, and plenty have a third floor nobody can keep comfortable. We work all over town and in the surrounding towns, from Salem and Danvers to Hamilton, Wenham and Manchester-by-the-Sea.

Lots of gas heat to replace

Many homes here run on aging gas boilers. We plan the heat pump around the house, then decide with you whether the boiler goes or stays as backup.

Some neighbors have light plants

Danvers, Peabody, Marblehead and a few other nearby towns run municipal light plants, and those set their own rebates. We sort out which program covers your address on the call.

Up to $8,500 Back on a Whole-Home Heat Pump

For 2026, Mass Save figures the whole-home rebate per ton of capacity, up to $8,500. Eligibility rules apply: the home has to be weatherized per a Home Energy Assessment, the unit has to be on the qualifying cold-climate list, and the house has to be occupied all winter. Partial-home rebates are smaller. We check where your house stands.

Straight Answers to Common Questions

The questions we hear most, answered short.

Can a two-family or triple-decker go heat pump?

Yes. We treat each apartment as its own job: separate outdoor unit, separate controls, sized to that unit's rooms and on its own meter. Ductless heads suit floors without ducts, and most older multi-family homes have none.

What coverage comes with a new system?

The equipment carries the manufacturer's coverage, and the length depends on the model. Whatever applies to your system is spelled out in the written proposal, so you can read it before you sign.

Do income-eligible households get bigger rebates?

Yes, Mass Save runs enhanced incentives for income-eligible households, with their own rules. We check on the call whether your household may qualify and walk you through the next steps.

Will I need a new electrical panel?

Sometimes. It depends on how much capacity your panel has and how big the system is. We look at the panel during the home visit, and any electrical work needed goes into the written proposal.

Can a heat pump take over from my central air?

Yes. Hook a heat pump to a new air handler on your existing ducts and the same equipment cools in summer and heats in winter. Two systems become one.

What happens to the oil tank if I switch?

When a heat pump replaces an oil system, the old system is removed or disconnected, and the tank usually comes out with it. We explain the steps and schedule them with the install so nothing is left hanging.

Is insulation required before the rebate?

Yes, for the whole-home rebate: the house has to be weatherized per a Home Energy Assessment. That visit is no-cost to you, it spells out what insulation and air sealing the house needs, and that work has big incentives too. We help get it scheduled early.
